Murray Hill, Inc., a Maryland-based progressive public relations firm, announced its candidacy for Congress after the Supreme Court’s campaign finance decision that ruled political spending by corporations may not be banned in candidate elections.
“Until now,” the firm says in a release, “corporate interests had to rely on campaign contributions and influence peddling to achieve their goals in Washington. But thanks to an enlightened Supreme Court, now we can eliminate the middle-man and run for office ourselves.”
This tongue-in-cheek bid for office highlights the logic behind the ruling that “corporations are people, too.”
